Many of our customers will have seen the recent announcement that UK Innovations Group Ltd, the manufacturer and supplier of the eControl electric conversion system, has ceased trading.
We appreciate that this news may cause some concern, particularly for customers who already have an eControl system installed in their cooker.
We would therefore like to reassure our customers and explain what the announcement means in practical terms.
Existing eControl systems will continue to be supported
Most importantly, customers with an existing eControl system should not be concerned about the ongoing availability of parts.
Although UK Innovations Group Ltd is closing, arrangements are being put in place for eControl spare parts to continue to be stocked and supplied, together with a parts replacement service for existing systems.
A dedicated technical support platform is also being established at controltechnical.co.uk for existing eControl customers.
This means that the closure of UK Innovations Group Ltd does not mean that existing eControl installations are suddenly unsupported or that replacement components will no longer be available.
David Pointer SCS will continue to support our customers
For customers whose eControl conversion was installed or has previously been maintained by David Pointer SCS, you can continue to contact us in exactly the same way as before.
We have considerable experience with these systems and will continue to diagnose faults, service installations and replace components where required.
Where a component needs replacing, we will work with the continuing parts and technical support service to obtain the appropriate replacement and get your cooker back up and running.
For our customers, therefore, very little changes in terms of who you contact if you have a problem.
Simply contact David Pointer SCS as usual and we will take care of the rest.
What about new electric conversions?
The closure of UK Innovations Group Ltd does not mean the end of electric conversions for traditional heat-storage range cookers.
Electric conversion technology has developed significantly over recent years and we are currently reviewing the options available for future installations.
As with every product we supply, any electric conversion system we offer needs to meet our standards for reliability, performance, serviceability and long-term availability of replacement parts.

Looking after our customers for the long term
David Pointer SCS has specialised in range cookers for decades.
Products, technologies and suppliers change, but one thing remains constant: our responsibility to look after the cookers we work on and the customers who own them.
If you currently have an eControl system installed, there is no need to take any action simply because of this announcement.
